Why We Give?
We Give Because God First Gave to Us
The Bible teaches us that everything we have comes from God (James 1:17). He is the ultimate giver, and in response to His incredible generosity, we joyfully give back. Our tithes and offerings are an acknowledgment of God’s provision and a way to honor Him with our resources.
We Give to Grow in Faith and Obedience
Giving is a spiritual discipline that deepens our trust in God. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). When we give, we align our hearts with God’s purposes and learn to place our trust in Him rather than in material things. It’s a way to grow in faith, contentment, and obedience.
We Give as an Act of Worship
Giving is an act of worship. It’s an opportunity to honor God and respond to His goodness. When we give, we express gratitude for His blessings and recognize that He is worthy of all that we have and all that we are.
We Give to Support the Mission of the Church
Our financial contributions enable us to reach more people with the gospel, serve our community, and carry out the work of God’s kingdom here on earth. Your giving helps fund programs, outreach initiatives, local and global missions, and the operational needs of our church. It allows us to make a tangible impact on the lives of those around us.
We Give to Reflect God’s Love
God calls us to be generous, not only because of His provision but because generosity is a reflection of His love. By giving, we are showing compassion to others and demonstrating that our treasure is found in things that last—like love, grace, and the work of the Kingdom—rather than in earthly wealth.
We want the stewardship of our finances to be an area of our lives where we can faithfully proclaim the gospel. Through our commitment to being a part of the local church and giving financially, God can use the local church to bless others and experience His blessings.
